“Jaffa, belle of the seas, ancient city,” wrote Nobel Prize winning writer Shmuel Yosef Agnon, “changes with the nature of her inhabitants.” And Jaffa has certainly had some dramatic changes over the past 150 years. Which Jaffa do we remember? How is our memory designed? What is the affect of collective memory and forgetfulness on the way in which Jaffa is built today? We will travel through the more and less known alleys of historical Jaffa and talk about culture, architecture and history. We will try not to forget anything…
Highlights: the Old city of Jaffa and its vicinity. We will try to visit the mosaic.
